Spun crazy
I’ve been neglecting my knitting because I’ve been busy learning how to spin on my new drop spindle. It’s been really interesting and frustrating at the same time. Okay, mostly it is frustrating! I don’t get the drafting part at all! So I just split the roving into smaller and thinner pieces and spun them like that.
I was spinning the yarn a particular way which was wrong…but it was working but I don’t think it is the way I’ve seen it on the videos on ICanSpin. So, yes the yarn was uneven and bulky but I managed to ply it and wash it. I’ll have to practice more spinning because I know I’m not doing it right but here some photos of what I got up to. Yeah, it’s not perfect but it’s got character. I was just happy to get it finished off…I shall try again but later…when I’m not so grumpy. =P I need to get my mind of this.
