Busy is, busy does.
A free day at last! Almost wishing I could laze around but I’m one of those people who is happiest being busy, especially if its doing stuff I love. So today, I planned (vaguely yesterday because I was sooo exhausted) that I would 1. do laundry 2. maybe dye 3. practice guitar (I just signed up for a guitar class at a community college for the summer session) 4. bake / cook. I’m already ammending my list. See, I love lists but I don’t always follow them. On a good day…oh it’s oh so brilliant, but then other days it’s pitiful and downright embarassing. (What a waste of a leather day planner!)
Anyway, so far, I am doing laundry right now because that is a definite must! I won’t be dyeing for now. I want to wait for the One Shot Sampler dyes I bought and use it on the pound of yarn that came in the mail a couple days ago. I will knit away instead. My jaywalker is going pitifully slow but I am aiming to finish that by the end of the month!! I figure, one sock a month…I can work that pace. I also added to the needles, doing a felting project, but shhh…it’s for my One Skein Secret Pal and I figure, why not start it now? I haven’t felted anything in ages. As for baking, browsed through my Ayurvedic cook book and found a recipe for a Cardamom Tea Cake. I hope it’s as interesting as it sounds, and yummy.
Since dyeing and spinning, I’ve felt the knitting aspect fall away abit and I want to get back to that a little more. A visit to one of my favorite LYS, well not so local, the Stitch Cafe in Valley Village/Studio City area for a dyeing class helped alot. I think perusing through the yarn was very inspiring. Touch is such a powerful sense. I also received my trial subscription of Interweave Knits!

The issue talked alot about lace which I haven’t really done except on the Lelah top I made a couple months ago. I’ve found lace very intimidating but there were a couple really neat patterns I found like this top in bamboo.

The staff also had some really simple lace knits that I hope to attempt sometime. I also really liked this corset-like top and the felted hat. I definitely felt more inspired as I flipped through the magazine. Yay, knit mojo!

Off to do stuff on the list.
