June blues.

We’re finally in June and for Project Spectrum, I dyed some sock yarn that will become my Pomatamus socks. I handpainted this yarn with the samplers I received a few weeks ago. I called the colour Oceanic because it reminded me the waters off the coast of some tropical island. I love it, it’s so pretty.

Oceanic

I need to get my packages out for my Secret Pals…(One Skein and SP8)…they are all ready to go except for the packaging. I hope they like what they get.

I also started (and pretty much done) on the knitted gift for my One Skein Pal…I figure, do it now then lag later on. So it’ll be ready and waiting, just a few more finishing touches. I’ll post pictures later once it’s all done but shhhh! Yes, I have alot of time on my hands. It’s summer and work is slowing down.

Oh and funny thing today, I interviewed for a summer teaching job and had to do a “teach back” in a non-academic subject to the interviewer so that they could see what my teaching style is. So, naturally I taught knitting! And guess what, the interviewer also knit! Yay. So it was really easy and we just ended up talking about yarns and projects and needles and various techniques. It was really cool that I showed her how to cast on using a knit method rather than the long-tail cast on. Hopefully she’ll remember me once they go through their applicants! =) This was the best interview ever!

Off to the post office…

that’s so cool about using knitting for your job interview and that the interviewer knits, too. i’d like to know about the knitting cast on method. i always use long tail cast on. i’ll have to browse my knitting reference books for how to do that.
