Yay for Secret Pals!

So I spent the better part of yesterday worrying about my job situation. It’s a real disapointment to have worked the last couple years and then have trouble finding work in said field. Sort of like investing in really nice, pricey yarn and knitting a pattern that quite doesn’t quite fit right. I remember hearing “oh, they need teachers and you’ll always find a job.” Hmmm, that isn’t quite going my way right now and the field for general teaching is highly competitive. So what are my options? I’m currently mulling over doing an internship in Special Ed. The only part I don’t like is all the PAPERWORK. Argh…the teaching field loves paperwork. I feel sorry for all the trees everytime I apply for a job. You wouldn’t believe how many documents I have to submit along with the paper application! So yes, I will be working on the paperwork frantically over the next several weeks. I hope my knitting won’t suffer too much.

Secret Pal 8 Package
Now on to the good news…and just a big THANK YOU to my Secret Pal 8!!! I received your lovely package yesterday. I wasn’t able to post til today because of the photos. My secret pal sent me some yummy Lorna’s Laces sock yarn in Carol Green. I’ve never knit with it before and I’m really excited to make some socks out of it. It’s such yummy soft yarn. I also got a small project bag from Lantern Moon (the new home for my current sock project!), a magnetic board (so useful for patterns and charts!) and Yard Requirement pamphlet. I love it all!!! Some of this stuff I would never have thought of it…and so it’s great that I have a Secret Pal who sends me all this useful stuff. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I’m really enjoying getting things in the mail. With computers being so central in our lives now, the only thing I get by mail are bills (booo hiisssss) and so it’s fantastic getting things (esp knitting goods) in the mail. I look forward to when 3pm rolls around everyday!

Mmm, Lorna's Laces sock yarn.

Useful for every knitter

Well, I’ve been trying to knit as much as often lately but the heat has been a bit of a set back. I actually have alot of knits on the needles and I figure this way, I should have a whole bunch of FO’s soonish. I’m a terribly slow knitter mind you. In the meantime, I’ve been working on Ms. Marigold and it’s going pretty well so far. I really like knitting with the Addi Turbo needles but right now, I’m on the boring stockinette part. *Yawn.

Close ups of Addi turbo...mmm

I think I’ll start working on the second sock (Baby Cable Ribbed socks)…had a bit of a second sock lull. I really need to learn to knit two socks at once!

Anyway, I think I’m going to implement a ‘no more yarn until I get a fulltime job’ criteria on myself.

*I would have posted this earlier but been having a hellish time with my internet connection!* Grrrr!
