and with the socks...it's actually that i have a lot of single socks lying around that are half of a finished pair.  they're lying around waiting to be finished.  it's good motivation to put them away and pick them up again later because you're so close to being done.  however, the only bad thing is if you forget the pattern sequence or the number of stitches you used to turn the heel and graft the toe...aiya!  
i'm no speed sock knitter or anything, but thanks for noticing :)</description>
