‘Tis scarf season

I’m in the mood for scarf knitting!

This has been brought about as a result of knitting a scarf for the ISE Exchange. I knitted a Liesel Scarf from my Secret Pal, Sandra a knitter/blogger from Croatia. I really loved knitting this scarf. It’s one that kept my attention and focus for sure. I didn’t try to knit much at once but I’d sit and do two repeats, ten rows per repeat at night. But the visual satisfaction at seeing the scarf grow and shape was definitely gratifying. I even finished the scarf in a week without really trying. It’s off in the mail already. I definitely feel the pressure of sending off a knitted lace item to another knitter. I know she’ll definitely be appreciative but it makes me wonder if she’ll do the eagle eye on my knit and ‘really’ like it. Or maybe, like me, will love a knitted gift item from another knitter. Nevertheless, I hope she likes it!

Liesel Scarf for ISE Exchange

I’ve already started my next scarf. I’m knitting the Handspun wool from Uruguay up already, and making the My So-Called Scarf scarf. This stitch pattern is really hard on my hands but I do love how the scarf is turning out, especially with variegated colours.

My So Called Scarf's progress

I’m so distracted by scarves right now. I haven’t begun to participate for Socktoberfest, and I have socks on the needles waiting to be finished. For now, it’s more scarves…hoping to get the Irish Hiking Scarf going too. In Malabrigo too, no less…that yarn is amazingly soft.

I feel like I have ADD right now.

Haha, i know what you mean. i don’t even need a scarf here but i’ve made two in the past month already! well, one and a half. and then i’ve got a pair and half of two other pairs of socks on the needles, a pair of gloves, a shawl, and an unfinished sweater i’m wanting to get back to finishing. whew! ADD? that doesn’t even begin to describe it. i’m not attention deficient; with my budget of time, i can’t afford to pay attention. :)

I love your Leisel! I did my ISE in a brick red silky wool and also loved the results. And strangely enough I have some Manos to make into “my so called scarf” - great minds think alike!
