Nada
pumpkin candle from 05, originally uploaded by Joits.I got NOTHING, NADA, RIEN knitting related. Not that I haven’t been knitting but I haven’t had time over the last week to do any satisfactory knitting. I get really frustrated when that happens. I even hoped to do some knitting while I headed up to San Francisco last weekend but I didn’t knit a stitch while I was there (I did knit while I was on the plane though but that doesn’t count). Bah! Boo!
The San Francisco was trip good though. Saw friends, ate good food, did a bit of shopping, walked A LOT. I used to want to live there but I think I’m over that. It’s a great little city. No doubt. And there are advantages living there compared to the Los Angeles area. Trust me…I hear it from a lot of people how much LA SUCKS. And I’ve heard the “you should move to the city” from alot of SF-ers about a million times. I love how they love their city but I don’t really dig how they diss LA. I don’t want to be part of that never-ending debate of which city is great. I think we can all make arguments about how each city we live in is wonderful but we can also point out what we don’t like it. The fact is, we deal with both and there different reasons that keep us living in the city in which we currently reside. Whatever the reason, I’ve come to the conclusion that I have to make the most of where I live. No matter where it will be and right now it’s right here in sunny Southern California. And I’m okay with that.
That said, I’ve always wanted to live in Seattle. Some weird teenaged fantasy. *Shrug.
Back to knitting. I am maniacally working on finishing up my boyfriend’s socks. Still. Hopefully I can finish them in time to coincide with the end of Socktoberfest and to present them to him as a gift. It’s two years together. Pretty cool.

i don’t get the debate either. people are so territorial. i’ve always wanted to live in seattle too! i think the movie “Singles” really influenced my want for that. it would help me if i would go and see the city first before i decide i want to live there. LOL

I am going to SF in two weeks for vacation, and I can’t wait. There are always those silly territorial debates - happens here all the time too. It is dumb. You live where you live and you make the most of it
That being said, I *heart* the northwest, and I can totally see myself in Seattle or in Portland. I love both cities SO much.

Glad you had a great trip. Have fun finishing up the boyfriend socks. 2 socks = 2 years! That’s an awesome equation. Tell him that he gets a sock for each year you two are together and if he wants more socks he’ll just have to spend the rest of his life with you.
