International Scarf Exchange Goodies

As I’m writing this entry, my wireless router is fizzling and dying. It keeps blinking in and out, and it’s really pissing me off.

ISE stash

No matter. I’ve received some wonderful packages the last couple days, hello there Loopyewe! and Ms. Paula, who was my International Scarf Exchange Pal. Paula is from Ottawa, Ontario and is a very talented and long-time knitter. She learned to knit when she was in Grade 2 and teaches knitting classes at her LYS. I was very fortunate to have her as my Secret Pal! Check out her site at http://www.hiredhands.ca.
I have to say that this was probably the most satisfactory exchange to date. She was wonderful with keeping in touch and blogging on the ISE blog and look at the package she sent me!

She managed to combine my love of purples, greens and blues into this heavenly package. She sent this beautiful lace scarf, I’m not sure what the pattern is but it really reminds me nautical/ocean themes which I thought went very well with the colours and the Fleece Artist Handmaiden Seasilk yarn she knit with. I’ve been seeing this yarn all over blogs and the hype over it is fitting. It has lovely drape and feels mahhhhvelous against my skin. She also sent a beautiful lady bug pin and teardrop earrings, as well as this amazing beaded necklace she made…also in purple. And to top that off, she generously sent some gorgeous wool roving from Fleece Artist Wensleydale Teeswater Sliver. It’s so pretty, I’m afraid to even think of spinning it. Click on the pics below for more details on the pics.

But back to the scarf, this is one stylish scarf! There’s just something about wearing an item handmade by another knitter. It even feels better than wearing something I made. I will definitely wear it with pride as it definitely appeals to my piscean-instinct. I can’t help but be drawn to the scarf. So THANK YOU again Paula! You rock!

Rockin' scarf

Ps. Spent the last three hours trying to install the new router…sigh. Even customer service couldn’t help. So back to the old and gonna connect old school style…with wire. I now have a massive headache.
