Needing more hours…
I was meaning to post more but I’m exhausted. Weekends aren’t meant for rest and relaxation but some Mondays, I’m more tired than normal.
I started this sock from Nancy Bush’s Knitting Vintage Socks. I love this book! I am knitting with Cherry Tree Hill’s Java and I’m loving the yarn. It’s got such a tight twist and it’s got such gorgeous colours. I’m also using some teeny teeny needles. Scary size 0’s. I don’t know how anyone can knit with these but it’s producing a nice firm fabric.
And tonight, I started on some Here Be There Dragon Socks via Keyboard Biologist’s pattern with the colourway “Libertine”. I’m liking Sweet Georgia’s Yarn alot. She definitely knows colours. I like how all the colours are saturated with her yarns and very professionally done. I’ve been finding that with some indie yarns I’ve knit with, there are bits of white from the undyed yarn when there really shouldn’t be…I know it’s being overly picky but I really don’t like it. I figure with the cost of sock yarn, indie or not…it really should be quality goods. Just my two cents.
I’m lusting after Sundara’s yarns…and she’s going to have a new batch out on Wednesday. Oooh the anticipation!
Sorry for the bad pic. My camera phone does not behave well with poor lighting.

I have yet to pick up size 0 needles. I am going to for the Yarn Pirate yarn, however. But I don’t know when I’ll start on those with all this holiday knitting I’m doing. I know what you mean about some of the indie dyers. I have a skein of indie sock yarn that is supposed to be pink andyellow and there were little patches of blue in it, as if some blue dye spilled on it or something. Another skein had some brown that wasn’t properly mixed in and it looks like a big ole rust patch. I know. I know. I feel badly too talking about the quality of the indie dyer’s work. But you’re right, we are still paying top dollar and deserve a top dollar yarn. The Yarn Pirate yarn looks really good, however.

don’t even get me started with sundara yarn. that stuff is like crack. and i haven’t even knit with it yet! i just like looking at the yarn in the package.
the smallest i ever dared to knit with were size 1’s. anything smaller would take me FOREVER. smaller needles mean more stitches, all around. perhaps when i’m feeling a bit more adventurous…
