Knitting un-blocked: latest FO.
This knit languished away for a long time, despite the loveliness of the yarn (soft, gorgeous Manos in the Wildflower colourway-ooooh) BUT I could BARELY bring myself to knit more than several rows at a time before I got bored or another knit captured my interest. I pretended to knit through Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year…and I was still on freakin’ ball #1.
The My So Called Scarf pattern isn’t difficult at all. However, everytime I picked up the yarn and would start to knit, my hands would cramp in protest after five minutes (this stitch was really hard on my hands) and I’d give up. I really loved how the scarf looked and I wanted one for my very own. I just couldn’t get a rhthym at all. Nada.
Fast forward several weeks. The weather is actually warming up and who knows when I’ll wear this scarf!? Do I really want to wait until next winter? I put away all my other knits and buckled down over the weekend. It was like reading Book 1 of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, get past the first 100 pages and your home free. It took me several tries to get through book 1 but I did it. (Don’t even ask me about book #2!) Once I got past the first ball, knitting through the second and finishing up was cake. I’m a slow knitter, yes but I did it in 3 days. Believe it or not, this is the first scarf I’ve ever knit for myself. And I love it!
I think Ox approves. He looks nice and cosy, doncha think?
***OX gives the scarf two thumbs up!***
