Balance
Time seems to fly when one is having a good time. I really haven’t been up to much except relax and do some knitting. But I have finished socks!
Notes:
Project: Simple Ribbed socks
Pattern: None, just a 3×1 rib.
Yarn: Cidermoon Glacier in Johnny Cash
Needles: #4
Dates: 3/31/07
This was such a mindless, quick knit. And of course, superfast on size #4 needles. I finished so fast that I felt like I was cheating.
I’ve already started on Jaywalkers in June Carter colourway. The colours are coming out crazy. I love it.
I also took time to try a hand at baking. The No Knead Bread has become famous on the blogosphere. I wasn’t as patient as others and found this easy recipe from this blog.
I’m pretty happy that I actually MADE bread from scratch. And I loved that I didn’t wait for 18 hrs for the dough to rise. I waited about two hours. Yes, I haven’t made bread since I was a kid. The bread was good! It was pretty dense and on the sweet side but I really liked it. It would go great with a soup or even on the side with some salad. I even enjoyed it by itself. I’ll definitely have to make this bread again.
As I was thinking about writing a post and cruising the newswire, I read a news article that greatly saddened me. Just yesterday, I had announced to anyone that would listen how I was going to read ALL of Kurt Vonnegut’s books. This said fresh from finishing up Cat’s Cradle in almost one sitting. And today…Kurt Vonnegut has passed away.
So sad. I am reading Bluebeard so far and enjoying it very much. His books will also accompany me on my cruise in the next several weeks.
So, happy(-ish, I think) and sad news. I guess that’s balance for you.
