Victoria B.C. Quickie Rehash

Victoria, B.C was beautiful! I really wish we spent more time there than in San Francisco (only because I’ve been to SF plenty of times). We chose to spend our time in Victoria on a coastal hike..

..and a quick walk on the beach.

The hike was fairly easy with a few ups and downs. It was nice to get away from the rocking of the ship and breathe some nice clean air. It was humbling to be in the presence of such ancient trees.

After the hike, I headed straight for the Bee Hive Wool Shop in the city. They had a lovely collection of yarns and LOTS of Fleece Artist and Hand Maiden yarns! Ooh la la! I splurged on a Hand Maiden Cashmere scarf kit.

Colourful yarns

It was a very friendly yarn store with a HUGE selection of yarns.

Then we zipped through the main, touristy part of Victoria near the harbour. Victoria was full speed ahead in springtime. The weather was amazing and the flowers were blooming. There was colour and beautiful tulips everywhere. There were lots of pinks in the trees, something you’d rarely see here in So Cal (more purples). Reminded me of apple blossoms.

Again, I wish we had more time. I was back on the ship by 5.30 and it was dinner at 6. A good time was had by all.

In knitting related news: I finished my Flair! I had to rip out the bottom because it was too short and re-knit a few more inches longer. I have a million ends to sew and possibly some blocking to do. Yay! C’est finis!
