Spinning Around

I think I got it! After two years of owning the spindles and pretending they weren’t hidden neatly in a box, I did this…

Spinning FO: Fleece Artist Mermaid

This yarn is Fleece Artist Wensleydale Sliver in Mermaid spun to about dk/worsted weight. Not quite sure how much yardage here but it’s not much.

I’ve actually put down my needles to spin and it’s quite addictive. I have not been able to put it down that I’ve spun about three skeins this long weekend (since I only work mon-thurs for summer school). So I’ve had PLENTY of time to chill and enjoy the long summer days.

Here was the latest one that has finally dried and I’m in love with the squishiness of it!!! Falklands was quite a friendly wool for the beginner spinner such as myself. I think I will knit a little scarflette or cowl with it.

FatCatKnits Falkland Thick/Thin Handspun

So far summer has been busier than I expected, especially with work. It’s been hard to edit photos and work around postings. I had joined 365days project but that has kinda fallen by the wayside the last week or so. It’s just been hard doing it on a daily basis. Anyhoo, moving on…I have two more weeks of summer school and I’m feeling my crafting mojo blossom. I love the free time I’ve had during the weekends and the nights were I do not have homework. I’ve also been slacking big time on the marathon training which I’m thinking to drop because come September, it’s going to be busy and I want to focus on work. I have a new class, so new class, new kids, new everything!

I really need to post more…hopefuly, the shawl and skein I’ve been working on this weekend as well. Whee.
