88 oh 8
In a serious attempt to blog more regularly, I wanted to post a finished knit that flew off my fingers and that is near and dear to my heart because I think I would actually wear it. I loved the finished product and was a bit bummed that I couldn’t wear it right now, deep into the summer heat. I present the Newsboy Cap–Headline News.
Pattern: Newsboy Cap - Headline News
Yarn: Cascade 220 in Black
Needles: 16 inch circs-#7, DPNs and circs-#10.5
Mods: Before the decreases, I knit in pattern for five cable rounds to make that hat slouchier. I think I’d like to knit another version of the hat but more fitted as well.
Details on Raverly here.
Check out the slouch.
Verdict: I really enjoyed this knit. It was quick, easy to memorize and looks great. Of course, Cascade 220, is a classic yarn and makes me wonder why I don’t knit with it more. Everytime I do, the results are pretty great.
Moving on, today being 8/8/08 marks the start of the summer Olympics in Beijing. I don’t know if I’ll boycott the Olympics entirely but I do think it is important to remember the political situation in Tibet.
