Finishing line

It’s been a little quiet here lately but that’s because the last three weeks was filled with Olympic watching and Ravelympic knitting but no blogging. This week also puts me back one week before school starts and that has me occupied lately. I didn’t finish both my projects for the Ravelympics but I did finish the Child’s Placket Neck Sweater which I made for a friend’s daughter.

Child's Placket Jacket

Pattern: Child’s Placket Neck Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK in Teal/#`0
Needles: Size 5
Verdict: I’m glad to finally learn how to knit a sweater from bottom up because I had some issues with my hour glass sweater and was stuck at the sleeves part. I wish I did much better with finishing this sweater because even though it looks alright, just not entirely too happy. I do hope my friend likes it!

Still workin on the loop shawl, had to put it down because I got burned out by the crazy knitting I did over the olympics and all the ripping I did on that pattern too. Once I finished the sweater, I took a break and decided to put my spindle to use. And then I couldn’t put that down for the next week. Spinning is great. I’m obsessed. I’ve been holding off yarn shopping but apparently, fiber is okay in my books. I picked up this recently from Ginny’s Fat Cat Knits Etsy store. Oh my goodness, I love her colorways! I love falklands and I love bfl spinning. *Drool! Look what came in the mail today!

Fat Cat Knits Falklands Fiber-Gorgeous!

Aren’t they gorgeous???!!! I love looking at fiber, especially Fat Cat Knits fiber. I really love spinning with her yarns and especially love Falklands wool. Yummy. Yeah, I really am obsessed.

I also think I want a spinning wheel and once I save up extra, I think I’ll get one. I think I want the Fricke DT. I want it now but I have to wait. Anyways, with work starting up next week, I probably won’t have the time so it’s probably a good thing. It takes me ages to spin with the spindle but perhaps that is a good thing too. Look what I finished recently….thick/thin, instant gratification as much as I could get with on a spindle.

Summer really spoiled me. All I pretty much did was eat, sleep and knit/spin. Well I did other things too…a few outings here and there but the time I had to do what I wanted was great, almost scandalous. As excited and nervous I am about next week at work, I’m a teensy bit sad to say goodbye to all my knit/spin time. Sigh-onara. :D
